1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Careerops (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Careerops is an AI-powered career operations platform that provides job search, evaluation, resume building, application assistance, and analytics tools. The Service uses third-party AI models and search APIs to generate content and recommendations.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • One account per person. Sharing accounts is prohibited.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • No fake or disposable email addresses — registrations using throwaway / temp-mail / disposable domains will be terminated and credits forfeited.
  • Password sign-ups that do not verify their email within 30 days are automatically deleted.

4. Credits and Payment

  • The Service operates on a pay-as-you-go credit system. Credits are consumed when using AI-powered features.
  • New accounts receive 12 free credits upon registration.
  • Additional credits can be purchased through Stripe. All prices are in EUR. Per §19 UStG (German small-business scheme), no VAT is charged or shown.
  • Credits are non-transferable. They are bound to your account and cannot be sold, gifted, or moved to another account.
  • Credits are non-refundable once you start consuming them, except where required by applicable law (see Section 10 and the Widerrufsbelehrung).
  • Credits do not expire as long as your account remains active.
  • We reserve the right to adjust credit pricing with 30 days’ notice to existing users.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Submit false, misleading, or plagiarized content in resumes or applications.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service programmatically.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the Service without authorization.
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service or its outputs.
  • Submit content that violates third-party intellectual property rights.

6. AI-Generated Content

  • The Service uses AI models to generate evaluations, resume suggestions, and application answers. These are recommendations only — you are solely responsible for reviewing and using them.
  • AI outputs may contain errors or inaccuracies. Always review before submitting applications.
  • We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will result in job offers, interviews, or positive outcomes.
  • You retain ownership of your original content (resumes, data you input). You grant us a limited license to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

8. Service Availability

  • We aim to provide 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREEROPS IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES.

10. Refund Policy & 14-Day Cooling-Off

  • EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content under § 355 BGB / Directive 2011/83/EU. Full instruction: Widerrufsbelehrung.
  • Digital-content waiver (§ 356 Abs. 5 BGB): at checkout you tick a checkbox expressly consenting to immediate provision of the digital content and acknowledging that your right of withdrawal expires once you start consuming credits. This consent is recorded with the purchase.
  • Unused credits remain refundable within the 14-day window. Contact support@careerops.space with your Stripe receipt; refunds are processed via Stripe to the original payment method.
  • If the Service experiences a verified outage that prevents you from using purchased credits, we will credit your account with equivalent credits.
  • Invoices and receipts are available via the Stripe Customer Portal (linked from your account page).

11. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time. Data is permanently removed within 30 days.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice when feasible.
  • Upon termination, unused credits are forfeited unless required otherwise by applicable law.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Operator: {{FULL_NAME}} (see Imprint). Place of jurisdiction, where legally permissible: {{ZIP_CITY}}, Germany — mandatory consumer protection laws of the consumer’s country of residence remain unaffected.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Hinweis für deutsche Verbraucher (AGB)

Diese Bedingungen gelten als Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen (AGB). Kernpunkte: Credit-System (12 Gratis-Credits bei Registrierung; Credits sind nicht übertragbar und an Ihr Konto gebunden); gemäß §19 UStG wird keine Umsatzsteuer berechnet; 14-tägiges Widerrufsrecht mit vorzeitigem Erlöschen bei digitalen Inhalten nach § 356 Abs. 5 BGB (siehe Widerrufsbelehrung); KI-Ausgaben sind Empfehlungen ohne Erfolgsgarantie; Haftung ist im gesetzlich zulässigen Rahmen beschränkt — die Haftung für Vorsatz, grobe Fahrlässigkeit und die Verletzung von Leben, Körper und Gesundheit bleibt unberührt. Bei Abweichungen zwischen der englischen und dieser deutschen Zusammenfassung ist für Verbraucher in Deutschland die für sie günstigere Auslegung maßgeblich.
